Tools Plus started carrying the Carhartt line of clothing based on the recommendations and popularity of many college students, construction workers, and other customers that wanted durable clothing at a reasonable price. The old adage that "the clothes make the worker" rings true today just as it has back in the old days. Hamilton Carhartt realized this and aspired to create a line of clothing that was unique and useful to the blue collar worker. In 1889, he came out with an overall garment specifically used by railroad workers. Demand increased and his company was born. From the beginning, he ran the company with only one thing in mind: to set a standard of excellence to which all others would aspire.
